Next meeting Thurs 12th July – Chuck Glider Competition & more!

This popular event will be held on Thursday 12th July on the field behind the village hall at Buriton.  Its easy, simply build or buy your own glider (depending on how competitive you’re feeling) bring it down to the field and have a laugh with the other members.  Be there by 19.45 (or earlier for trimming flights) and the comp with start at 20.00. It will consist of 6 flights and the longest accumulative time from these 6 flights wins. It’s just bit of fun so if yours doesn’t fly very well there’s no need to worry.
While you’re thinking about the competitions don’t forget the Fun Fly tasks that run all year. So far there has been just one entry, Bob Hill managed 24 loops in 90 seconds. That must be beatable surely? There are several other ‘tasks’ as well, max spins, longest glide etc. Don’t be shy, have a go.
Gary Houghton has kindly donated a Ripmax Sbach 342 for auction at the meeting, with all proceeds going to the club!. It’s brand new except that the cowl has been cut away for an IC engine (it should be a fairly straightforward task to rebuild this if using an electric motor). Full details of the kit can be seen at http://www.ripmax.com/Item.aspx?ItemID=A-SFM8706. Many thanks to Gary for his generous donation.
